Meryemana - The House of Mary, on Mount Coressos, (Selcuk) Turkey
The House of Mary on Mount Coressos in Turkey is believed by many to be the place where St. John took Mary to live 37- 45 A.D. The location is based on the visions of a 19th century nun - Anne Catherina Emmerich of Germany. A priest from France and later others confirmed ruins of a home that dated back to the 6th century A.D. The building also had elements dating to the 1st century. There are stone arches and other stone work that seem to have come from the Romans prior to 37-45 AD. A spring is at the site.
Meryemana is in a very remote, dense tree covered and steep location despite being only 8.6 kilometers from Ephesus. It would have been even more remote during early Roman times and during 37- 45 A.D. It is a beautiful location filled with a powerful spiritual essence which seems to be the “Divine’s” way of always supporting those coming on pilgrimages with strong faith and intention.
